Deductive Database Support for Data Visualization
نویسندگان
چکیده
We argue that we can use deductive databases to support data visualization. In particular we show how we have used the deductive languages LDL and CORAL for the implementation of the visual query language GraphLog. We discuss in detail the translation function from GraphLog to each of LDL and CORAL, especially when aggregate functions are present. We also present an example of using GraphLog and its environment Hy + in order to support software design understanding and software design veriication.

Integrating Inductive and Deductive Reasoning for Database Mining
Database mining is the process of finding previously unknown rules and relations in large databases. Often, several database mining techniques must be used cooperatively in a single application. In this paper we present the Recon database mining framework, which integrates three database mining techniques: rule induction, rule deduction, and data visualization.
متن کاملA new approach for data visualization problem
Data visualization is the process of transforming data, information, and knowledge into visual form, making use of humans’ natural visual capabilities which reveals relationships in data sets that are not evident from the raw data, by using mathematical techniques to reduce the number of dimensions in the data set while preserving the relevant inherent properties. In this paper, we formulated d...
متن کاملUsing a Distributed Deductive Database for Mining Association Rules
Deductive databases may operate in a distributed environment. One powerful extension to a traditional deductive database is the incorporation of data mining and the use of association rules. This paper explores the issues that surround finding support and confidence for mining association rules.
متن کاملPractical Problems in Coupling Deductive Engines
Juliana Freire Bell Labs Abstract There has been a considerable demand for applications that extend the capabilities of databases, such as data warehouses, decision support systems and knowledge discovery , to name a few. Unfortunately, adding new functionality by coupling separate components with commercial relational databases is usually a non-trivial task. One of the main reasons is the fact...
متن کاملPrototyping a Genetics Deductive Database
We are developing a laboratory notebook system known as the Genetics Deductive Database. Currently our prototype provides storage for biological facts and rules with flexible access via an interactive graphical display. We have introduced a formal basis for the representation and reasoning necessary to order genome map data and handle the uncertainty inherent in biological data. We aim to suppo...
